This years Heritage Day is sure to be an exciting and fun packed day for all the family. Each street has a different theme with so much to see and do. There’s lots of workshops for young and old and you get to take home what you create, so try your hand at the pottery wheel, or weave a small keepsake to remind yourself of your time at the festival, or churn butter like they did in times gone by and take a sample home with you. There’s so many children’s activities that the kids will be spoilt for choice. With so much variety there is something for everyone on Heritage Day. Sit yourself on the hay bales while you watch the craftspeople show skills from Ireland of old or listen to the live music and watch Irish dancing. Maybe you fancy a bit of seafood or an Irish coffee to quench your thirst. Buy handmade goods, gifts and souvenirs and if you really want to get into the spirit – don’t forget your fancy dress and you could win a prize.
